Global Warming? That Sounds Hot
Lately, according to the United Nations climate panel for the first time is connecting hotter global temperatures to hotter global tempers. Top scientists are saying that climate change will complicate and worsen existing global security problems. Scientists assume that the hotter the temperatures get, the need for resources will increase, causing for competition which made lead to violence.
For the past seven years, research in social science has found more links between climate and conflict, study authors say, with the full report referencing hundreds of studies on climate change and conflict. The U.S. Defense Department says that the climate change may be a threat-multiplier, along with poverty, political stability, and social tensions worldwide. This wouldn't end well for any nations. Especially the ones that are already suffering poverty
The reason everyone is so hyped up about the global warming issue is due to the fact that not only will the weather be continuously changing and affecting our environment in many ways, but soon their will be a fight for resources between human beings. Violence between the human race is literally the last thing we need at this time, or ever. When it comes down to it, man will fight to survive. Survival for the fittest I guess you could call it, but when people really want something and its a limited resource, they will fight to get it. For example, every month or so they release a different pair of Jordan brand shoes that everyone wants. I remember at Town East mall, people were lined up to get the new Jordan's. It got bad enough to the point where people were fighting each other and the police had to get involved and use pepper spray. Now, imagine that, but only with resources that we actually need to survive...I'll give you a minute to illustrate that in your head. Hectic, right? This is why the issue of global warming is so vital and not an issue that we can overlook. We need to do something about this before it's too late and all hell breaks loose.

Disney Breaks Ties with Boy Scouts
Disney ends funding to the Boy Scouts of America
Disney ends funding to the Boy Scouts of America due to their policy that bans gay adult leaders in the organization. The Disney organization decided to cut off all funds, which will cause the Boy Scouts of American organization to lose a big contribution of where they got most of their funds from. It was first realized that Disney would cut off all funds when they sent a letter out to troops saying so. Not only did Disney provide funds, but they also donated some money to troops.
I honestly think that this will impact kids and their thoughts on the Boy Scouts organization due to the fact that many of the kids at younger ages tend to know and enjoy Disney as a household name, but now that the name is no longer associated with the Boy Scouts, many kids won’t want to participate in it. It’s honestly irks me to know that people these days are still not treating each other as equal. Years and years we’ve been fighting for equality, and for what?! To find the next thing to judge someone upon. That’s pretty messed up if you ask me.
Economically, this could prove as another turning point in the way we as Americans handle, and deal with thing. For one, the topic of gay marriage and what not has been ongoing recently these past couple of years. There’s no more turning a blind eye to it because many people are trying to change these things so they can have equal rights just like everyone else. Day in and day out, we Americans go through life being worried that we won’t be accepted, and that’s one of the reasons why. People just don’t want to change their viewpoints on things. This topic, I’m sure, will continue for a little while longer, but it takes time to get to perfection… am I right?!
